Jammu and Kashmir is all set to get 50 new colleges, announced the Governor Satya Pal Malik.

Briefing the media in Srinagar on Wednesday, the Governor said that these colleges will be in addition to the 50 colleges which has been announced by the state government earlier.

Malik also informed that around 50,000 vacancies will be filled within a few months in various government departments urging the youth to come forward and participate actively in this recruitment process.

The Governor claimed that this recruitment process is set to be the largest single recruitment drive ever in J&K or Ladakh.

He said the government is working with various central agencies to chalk out a scheme, which will provide a minimum support price for the apple crop in the state. NAFED is willing to commit over 5,000 crore rupees to procure over 50 percent of apple production of the State. This will benefit over 7 lakh apple farmers, said the Governor.
