Kalraj Mishra Appointed as Himachal Governor

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)leader Kalraj Mishra was appointed as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh onMonday replacing Acharya Devvrat who has been transferred and appointed as theGovernor of Gujarat.

A press communiqué from the Rashtrapati Bhavan said that the appointments of Kalraj Mishra and Acharya Devvrat will come into effect from the dates they assume charge of their respective offices.

Mishra had resigned as Minister forMicro, Small and Medium Enterprises in 2017 from the Narendra Modi governmentafter he crossed the age of 75, the BJP's unofficial age limit for holding anelected post.
