LS Polls: Congress releases first candidates list

With not much time left for the Lok Sabha elections, Congress has released the first list of candidates in Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat.

The list comprises the names of 15 candidates to contest from various seats. Party President Rahul Gandhi will contest from his sitting seat Amethi and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi from Rae Bareli.

There are 11 candidates for UP in the list. Former Union Minister RPN Singh has been given ticket from Kushi Nagar, Salman Khursid from Farrukhabad and Jitin Prasad from Dhaurahra.

Partly leader Nirmal Khatri has been fielded from Faizabad while Anu Tondon from Unnao. For Gujarat, the Congress has released names of four candidates. Prashant Patel will be the candidate from Vadodara and Bharatsinh Solanki from Anand Parliamentary Constituency.
