MAHARASHTRA | Shiv Sena Demands Rotational CM System

A day after the Maharashtra poll results were declared, Shiv Sena continues to play the hardball by reminding its ally BJP of the 50:50 formula. With the BJP tally in Maharashtra falling down, Sena seems to make the hay as the sun shines.

Shiv Sena demands a rotational CM system in Maharashtra, saying both allies should get a chance to run government for 2.5 years each.

The BJP-Shiv Sena combine is all set to return to power inMaharashtra, albeit with a reduced majority. The alliance won 161 seats in the288-member state Assembly.

The BJP has won 105 seats, while the Shiv Sena has won 56seats. The Opposition Congress has won 44 seats, while the NCP has won 54.
