Maharashtra: Shiv Sena may form govt with NCP & Cong

The Shiv Sena said that it may form the government with the support of the NCP and Congress if BJP did not agree to its demands. The Shiv Sena has been demanding the BJP to share CM post in Maharashtra.

"BJP could not prove majority if it claims to form the government without taking Shiv Sena with them," read an editorial in the party's mouthpiece 'Saamna' on Sunday. The editorial further read that Uddhav Thackeray-led party could claim to form the government as it has the second-largest number of MLAs (56) and can run the government with the support of NCP and Congress.

It may be mentioned here that Shiv Sena has beendemanding equal distribution of Cabinet portfolios and the term of ChiefMinister's post for 2.5 years each. However, BJP has been maintaining that DevendraFadanvis will continue to be the CM for the entire term.

On Saturday, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut met NCPchief Sharad Pawar as the current term of Maharashtra government ends onNovember 8.
