NCB Questions Rhea Chakraborty For About 6 Hrs

Pratidin Bureau

Actress Rhea Chakraborty was today questioned for more than 6 hours by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with the accusations of drug abuse having to play a role in the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Her questioning comes just two days after her brother Showik Chakraborty was arrested by the agency.

Rhea reportedly was summoned this morning at the Central agency's Mumbai office, and she has been summoned again tomorrow.

However, the actress was allegedly hounded and mobbed by certain mediapersons, and she reportedly had a hard time making her way to the agency.

A NDTV report quoted her lawyer Satish Maneshinde as saying, "Rhea Chakraborty is ready for arrest… it's a witch hunt. If loving someone is a crime, she'll face consequences. Being innocent, she hasn't approached any court for anticipatory bail in all cases foisted by Bihar Police with CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation), ED (Enforcement Directorate) and NCB."

Earlier, her father, a retired Lt Col, issued a statement condemning the arrest of his son. Hi statement read, "Congratulations India, you have arrested my son, I'm sure next on the line is my daughter and I don't know who is next thereafter. You have effectively demolished a middle class family. But of course, for the sake of justice everything is justified. Jai hind."
