NCERT Syllabus to be reduced by half: HRD Ministry

The Indian government has decided to reduce the NCERT syllabus for students by half terming it to be too 'cramped'. The decision was taken by Human Resource Development (HRD) ministry.

HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar talking about the decision said a child needs physical education, value-based education and life skills apart from their regular studies.

The HRD Minister said that by the end of June 2018, the draft of a new National Education Policy will be tabled before the Union Cabinet.
