No question of scrapping rafale deal: Arun Jaitley

Pratidin Bureau

Amid nationwide criticism and strong retaliation from the opposition, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has said that here is no question of scrapping the Rafale aircraft deal with France.

These jets are coming to India which will enhance the combat ability of the Indian Air Force, Jaitley said in an interview with a news agency.

By allegations one cannot prove anything, he said. Replying to the question of why Prime Minister Narendra Modi is not speaking on the Rafale issue, Jaitley said, those who are to speak have spoken.

Merely because somebody can resort to untruths and vulgarity is no reason for the Prime Minister to participate in a debate of this kind, jaitley added.

The Minister said, the facts which could be put in the public domain have been put in the public domain about the deal.
