No Replacement For AN-32 Aircraft: IAF Chief

Air Chief Marshal (ACM) B.S. Dhanoa said on Monday thattheIndian Air Force (IAF) will continue to fly AN-32 transport aircraft in themountains till new aircraft under procurement are inducted.

 Addressing a press conference in Gwalior,Dhanoa said, "AN-32 aircraft will continue to fly in mountainous areas, we don'thave any replacement."

IAF has expedited the process toacquire new equipment including advanced line of aircraft, following which theywill not be used in a critical role. It would then become just a routineaircraft that would be used for training, he added.

Indian Air Force An-32 jetwith 13 personnel went missing in Arunachal Pradesh on 3rd June. After eight days of a massive search operation, the wreckage ofthe plane was spotted.
