Pilots killed in Trainer Aircraft Crash in Telangana

Two trainee pilots were killed after the trainee aircraft, aCessna, of a flight training institute, crashed on Sunday afternoon inTelangana.

The trainee aircraft took off from Rajiv Gandhi Aviation Academy at Begumpet in inclement weather and latter crashed in the cotton fields in Sultanpur village of Vikarabad district of Telangana, about 100 km from Hyderabad.

Local residents and farmers rushed to the site and alertedthe police. Police removed the bodies from the crash and the wreckage site. Theaircraft was on a regular training sortie when it lost control of the radar andlater crashed.

The aircraft, according to sources crashed into cottonfields and was badly damaged and the wreckage strewn around. Both the pilots,identified as Prakash Vishal and Amanpreet Kaur, died at the spot and theirbodies lay close to the crash site.

Local administration made arrangements for their postmortem.
