PM Modi launches employment scheme in six states

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday launched the GaribKalyan Rozgar Abhiyaan, an employment scheme for migrant workers.

The Garib Kalyan Rozgar Abhiyaan was launched by PM Modi throughvideo conference in Katihar village in Bihar in the presence of Chief Ministersof Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Jharkhand and a minister ofOdisha.

PM Modi stated during the lockdown due to the outbreak of coronavirus, the workers from cities who returned to villages will now be benefited from new opportunities and the scheme will give a boost to development in rural areas.

Launching the scheme PM Modi said he applauds the way villageshave fought coronavirus and this has taught a big lesson to the cities.

The scheme will work in 116 districts across these six States where the maximum numbers of the migrant workers have returned to.
