PM Modi Urges BJP MPs To Hold Foot March

Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged Bharatiya Janata Party MPs toundertake a 150-km padyatra (foot march) in their constituencies to celebrate the birth anniversaries ofMahatma Gandhi and Sarder Vallabhbhai Patel.

 "Prime Minister told MPsthat everyone should carry out a 150-km-long padayatra in their constituenciesduring the period starting from October 2, the birth anniversary of MahatmaGandhi, to October 31, the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel," assaid by Prahlad Joshi,minister for parliamentary affairs.

The prime minister suggested that 150 groups could be formed ineach constituency to undertake the padyatra.

Modi said the programme should be nonpoliticaland asked parliamentarians to ensure the maximum participation of local people.
