PM terms Ex-PM Rajiv Gandhi as ‘Corrupt No.1’

Referringto the Bofors case, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday attacked Congresspresident Rahul Gandhi and termed former PM Rajiv Gandhi as "corrupt no.1". ThePM made the comment in a rally in Uttar Pradesh.

"Yourfather was termed 'Mr Clean' by his courtiers, but his life ended as 'Bhrashtacharinumber 1," said the PM. He further said that Rahul Gandhi's continuous attackalleging corruption in the Rafale deal is nothing but an effort to tarnish hisimage.

"Bytarnishing my image and by making me look small, these people want to form anunstable and a weak government in the country," said PM Modi, while attackingthe oppositions.

Meanwhile, reacting to PM Modi's remark against the Ex-PM, Rahul Gandhi tweeted, "Modi Ji, The battle is over. Your Karma awaits you. Projecting your inner beliefs about yourself onto my father won't protect you. All my love and a huge hug. Rahul."
