PM visits Badrinath after a 17 hours meditation

Pratidin Bureau

After meditating for 17 hours at a holy cave near the temple , Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered prayers at the Himalayan shrine of Badrinath in Uttarakhand this morning.

The PM who is on a two-day Uttarakhand visit, wearing a grey traditional pahari attire offered prayers for about 30 minutes and undertook a circumambulation of the Kedarnath shrine.

It seemed more like a portfolio shoot rather than a spiritual visit to the shrines rather than as he told reporters- "spending some time in solitude and reflect on the work" he has done.

Nevertheless, with his fourth visit to the temple in two years, Modi also took stock of development work in Kedarpuri.

Notably, Prime Minister Narendra Modi faces Congress's Ajay Rai and grand alliance's Shalini Yadav in Varanasi today as India votes for the seventh and last phase of the Lok Sabha Elections.
