Pulwama encounter: Jawan, civilian and three terrorists killed

Three terrorists have been gunned down by security forces,while one Army jawan and one civilian have lost their lives in an encounterthat broke out in Dalipora area of Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama in the wee hoursof Thursday.

The exchange of fire between the militants and the securityforces took place today at Dalipora which is the main town in Pulwama district.Two security personnel and another civilian were also injured in the gunfight,who have been rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, curfew has been imposed in Pulwama  town Pulwama and adjoining areas besidessuspended mobile internet services as a precautionary measure.

Among the killed terrorists, two are believed to be local, while one is reported to be from Pakistan. However, the official confirmation of the identities is yet to be made.

The firing started after CASO launched by a joint team ofarmy and police in the area near District Police Lines near the main town. Thejoint team of forces intensified the search. Terrorists also opened fire,leading to an encounter. Heavy exchange of fire took place between the forcesand the terrorists.Operation is still underway. The terrorists wereholed up in a house in Dalipora area of Pulwam
