The IndianRailways will conduct the largest recruitment drive for paramedical categories,including staff nurse and dieticians beginning on Friday. As per the statementissued by the railways, it said that the Computer Based Test (CBT) will be heldfor recruitment to 1, 923 posts from July 19 to July 21.

The statementalso reads that in this recruitment drive, more than 4.39 lakh candidates willbe taking the test which will be held in 345 test centers in 107 towns/citiesacross the country.

According to officials of Railways, this is the first recruitment of the railways where the reservation for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) will be available for eligible candidates. Against 10 percent of the total vacancies earmarked for EWS candidates, 4,654 EWS candidates will be appearing in the tests.

It hasbeen said that the selected candidates will be appointed to the post of staff nurse,dietician, health and malaria inspector, pharmacist, optometrist andradiographer. The officials also informed that more than 50 percent ofcandidates are appearing for the post of staff nurse.

Railway officials informed that a large number of candidates from Uttar Pradesh have applied for this recruitment for various posts with 64,596 candidates followed by Rajasthan with 62, 772, Maharashtra with 38, 097 candidates while 35,496 candidates from Kerala have applied for the recruitment.
