Rajnath Singh pays tribute to jawans

The newlyappointed Defence Minister of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 2.0 cabinet,Rajnath Singh today visited the National War Memorial to pay tribute to jawanswho laid down their lives for the country post-independence.

Army ChiefGeneral Bipin Rawat, Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa and Navy Chief Admiral KarambirSingh were also present at the memorial to pay tribute to the jawans.

RajnathSingh, who was the home minister in Modi's first cabinet has given the chargeof Defence Minister after taking oath on May 30 at Rashtrapati Bhavan. Singh willtake over from his predecessor Nirmala Sitharaman who has been allotted theFinance Minister in Modi's 2.0 Cabinet.

The War Memorial was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24 this year which is located next to India Gate.
