Re-polling underway in more than 500 booths for West Bengal Panchayat elections

Re-polling is underway on May 16 in 572 panchayat election booths spread across 20 districts in West Bengal. Voting began at 7:00 am and shall end at 5:00 pm.

It may be mentioned here that several incidents of clash between different party workers had surfaced on Tuesday, with over 10 people dead in the violence.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed concern about the incidents in West Bengal during the Panchayat polls.

The PM said that not just BJP, people from all leading parties, except the one that rules the state, suffered.
