Red Sand Boa Snake Rescued

Pratidin Bureau

Two men were arrested on Friday by Bokaro police and a rare Red Sand Boa snake worth Rs 1.6 crore was recovered from their possession.

"We have arrested two men from a hotel here and recovered a rare red sand boa snake from their possession worth Rs 1.6 crore," the police said.

The arrested have been identified as Sunil Paswan and Md Shahabuddin.

It may be mentioned here that Red Sand Boa snakes are mostly found in Maharashtra and smugglers are trying to smuggle these and sell in the international market- especially China.

Smugglers take the smuggled snakes out via Nepal.

Police have registered a case against the duo and further investigation is underway.
