Senior BJP Leader Succumbs To Covid-19

Senior BJP leader Gyan Singh Negi who was suffering from Covid-19, has succumbed to the virus in Uttarakhand on Tuesday.

"I am deeply saddened to learn about the death of senior leader of BJP Uttarakhand, Gyan Singh Negi who held the post of Minister of State with the state government. May God give strength to the bereaved family to bear this loss and the departed soul rest in peace," tweeted Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat on his demise.

Gyan Singh Negi, who headed the government's rural health advisory, Rajya Gramin Swasthya Salahkar Parishad, presently was holding the rank of a minister of state.

State BJP spokesperson Devendra Bhasin said Negi had been associated with the party from a young age.

Uttarakhand currently has 24,629 Covid cases with 16,648 recovered and 341 deaths.
