Sidhu resigns as Punjab Cabinet minister

Cricket-turned-politician,Navjot Singh Sidhu on Sunday submitted his resignation as a Minister from thePunjab cabinet.

Sidhu in a letter to Congress president Rahul Gandhi wrote, "I hereby resign as Minister from the Punjab cabinet."

TheCongress leader served as the Minister of Local Government, Tourism, CulturalAffairs, and Museums of the State of Punjab.

Sidhu and Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh have had an upside-down relationship. Sidhu during LS polls had accused Singh of blocking the ticket of his wife Navjot Kaur from Amritsar constituency.
