Temporary airspace restrictions lifted by IAF

The IndianAir Force (IAF) said that all the temporary restrictions imposed on all airroutes in the country's air space have been lifted and the moves comesimmediately after Prime Minister Narendra Modi began his second term in office.

The IAF onFriday tweeted saying the temporary restrictions on all air routes in theIndian airspace imposed by IAF on Feb 27 have been removed. The IAF said thatit had removed restrictions that were imposed on all routes a day after its 12mirage 2000s crossed over to Pakistan and attacked a JeM terrorist trainingcamp in Balakot in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The strikesimposed by IAF were in response to the terror attack in Pulwama that took placein February 14 in which more than 40 CRPF jawans have lost their lives.

OnWednesday, Pakistan extended the ban on India using its airspace for commercialflights till June 14 and since then, foreign carriers have been forced to takecostly detours by using Indian airspace because they cannot fly over Pakistan. Theclosure mainly affects flights from Europe to Southeast Asia.
