Tesla To Set Up R&D Facility in Bengaluru

Pratidin Bureau

One of the most valuable automotive companies in the world Tesla is reportedly in talks with the Karnataka government to set up a Research and Development Centre (R&D) in Bengaluru.

The Economic Times reported that the company, which has also forayed into space vehicles, is having discussions with the Karnataka Industries department to establish an R&D facility in Bengaluru.

"The first proposal is for an R&D centre and we have already had at least two rounds of discussions," the report quoted a department official as saying.

Bengaluru is already home to some tech majors. While Apple has an app accelerator in the Garden City, Microsoft, Huawei, IBM and Samsung have R&D facilities in the city. Amazon India is also headquartered in Bengaluru.
