Cyberabad PoliceCommissioner VC Sajjanar led the team of police officials on Friday morning,which encountered the four accused in the rape and murder of a Hyderabadveterinary doctor. VC Sajjanar later confirmed the encounter.
Meanwhile, the police werepraised for the encounter on social media.
- VC Sajjanar is a specialist, who handled many such cases.
- Three men arrested for attacking two college girls with acid in Hyderabad's Warangal in December 2008 were gunned down in an encounter by the police.
- Sajjanar was then SP of Warangal.
- Later, one of Andhra's then top Maoist leaders P Sudhadkar Reddy was killed by the police in an encounter along with one of his colleagues in May 2009.
- Sajjanar was the District Superintendent.
