Tripura Communal Violence: 6 Arrested For Alleged Provocative Posts On Social Media

Six people have been arrested in Tripura for alleged provocative social media posts over recent communal violence in the state.

They were arrested in connection with six of 11 cases registered in different police stations.

In a tweet, Tripura police had warned, "Strict action will be taken against the persons who are trying to create hatred in society."

As of Tuesday, 78,000 tweets were counted that had photos, texts, and videos of communal violence and attacks on the minority community.

According to police, only 30 tweets were from Tripura and the rest were from several other states and abroad.
