Trump calls PM Modi ‘Father of India’

US President Donald Trump onTuesday called Prime Minister Narendra Modi the "Father of India".

"I remember India before, it wasvery torn. There was a lot of fighting and he brought it all together like afather would bring it all together. Maybe he's the father India; we'll call himthe father of India. He (Modi) is a great gentleman and a great leader," Trumpwas quoted as saying by ANI following the bilateral meeting in New York.

The US President also likened PMModi to Elvis Presley after attending the Howdy: Modi event in Houston.

It may be mentioned here thatTrump suddenly dropped at UN Climate Action Summit on Monday to hear PM Modi'sspeech. He had faced much criticism from environment activists after pulling USout of the Paris Agreement.
