Two BJP Workers Killed In Poll Violence

Ahead of the second phase election which is being held in Odisha today, two BJP worker were thrashed to death by a group of rival political party members  in Ganjam district last night.

In the first incident, Sadananda Pradhan, a BJP worker, was killed after members of a political party hurled country bombs at him in Agajhola village under Bhanjanagar police limits late at night. Residents of the village later found his body and informed the police.

In another incident, over 12 people of a political party barged into the house of Santosh Pati (28), a BJP worker from Kadalijhola village of Lathipada panchayat under Sorada police limits, late at night and attacked him with sticks and iron rods. The villager residents later rushed him to the sub-divisional hospital in Bhanjanagar where doctors pronounced him brought dead.

Police have started investigation into the incident and efforts were on to nab the attackers.
