The Home Secretary of the United Kingdom has recently referred India's request for extraditing fugitive billionaire Nirav Modi to a court. The move was taken by the Home Secretary to initiate legal proceedings against Modi.

British newspaper The Telegraph confronted the embattled billionaire tycoon on a busy London street on Friday. The daily tracked him down to an £8-million apartment in London's West End.

He is one of the prime accused in the $2-billion Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam. Modi has been charge-sheeted by both of the investigating agencies- ED and CBI. Also ED has attached his assets worth crores under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

On Friday, a sea-facing bungalow of Nirav Modi in Maharashtra's Alibaug was demolished with explosives. The bungalow estimated to cost over Rs. 100 crore.
