Underworld Threatens to Blow Up Maharashtra CM’s Residence

Pratidin Bureau

The CM of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray's residence 'Matoshree' reportedly received a few threat calls on Saturday night.

The unidentified caller claimed to be a member of Dawood Ibramhim's gang and threatened to "blow up" Matoshree in the next few days.

As per reports, the Mumbai Crime Branch has started investigating the matter and is not brushing aside the incident suspecting it to be a prank call.

Since the calls were received, the Crime Branch has bolstered security around the CM's residence located in Kalanagar Colony.

A report by India Today quoted an official as commenting, "Someone called up on 'Matoshree' phone number two times on Saturday night and said Dawood Ibrahim wanted to talk CM Uddhav Thackeray. However, the telephone operator did not transfer the call to the CM."

"The caller did not reveal his identity, but only said that he was calling from Dubai on behalf of Dawood Ibrahim. Both the calls were received around 10.30 pm," he further said.

On the other hand, the Maharashtra government has issued a statement in this regard expressing concern as well as condemning the threat.

It also demanded the intervention of the Central government in the matter.
