We are fighting poison at national level: Rahul Gandhi

Congress President Rahul Gandhi during his three-day visit toWayanad starting Friday said that their party's door will be open for everysingle citizen of the constituency regardless of their age, where they comefrom, what ideology they come from.

Gandhi, who held the Amethi constituency in Uttar Pradesh for three times, contested from two seats in the Lok Sabha election, 2019. He has defeated by Union minister Smriti Irani in Amethi, but won Wayanad by a margin of over 400,000 votes.

This visit also will be Rahul Gandhi's first public appearanceafter his party's defeat in recent Lok Sabha elections. Attacking PM NarendraModi, Gandhi accused him of using "poison of hatred to divide the country."

 Interestingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was also inKerala on Saturday for a visit to the Guruvayur temple.

Amid heavy rainfall, Rahul Gandhi was seen actively taking partin a roadshow in Kallikavu. The ever enthusiastic Rahul Gandhi was spotted inan open vehicle in the Wandoor Assembly segment in Malappuram district.

Though Wayanad is on the Western Ghats mountain ranges is atourist spot, which is also one of the most backward districts of Kerala.
