After months of tension following violent incidents in Manipur, a heartwarming example of communal harmony emerged. In the village of Lhangnom, Tousem, the Kuki residents extended their helping hand to a distressed Meitei individual, Yaikhom Maipaksana Meitei, from Imphal East.

He found himself in a dire situation after falling victim to theft, leaving him stranded with no means to return home. Without hesitation, the Kuki villagers in Tamenglong came to his rescue and promptly notified the Assam Rifles stationed at Kadamtala for assistance.

The Assam Rifles, in collaboration with Jiribam police, swiftly confirmed the identity of the distressed Meitei person and wasted no time in informing his family and the local police station about his safety.

On the morning of October 23, this distressed man was safely escorted back to his home in Imphal East. What's even more remarkable is the ongoing efforts of Assam Rifles and Jiribam district Administration & police to foster unity and resolve conflicts through peaceful dialogues.

Over the past few weeks, numerous meetings have taken place at Assam Rifles, Kadamtala, SP Jiribam office, and in the villages of both communities.

These collective endeavors are bearing fruit, as peace, harmony, and mutual understanding are being restored, allowing displaced individuals to return to their homes.
