Afghanistan beats Pakistan in 1st warm-up

Pratidin Bureau

Ahead of the ICC World Cup campaign to start from May 30, Afghanistan beat Pakistan by 3 wickets in their 1st warm-up match at County Ground in Bristol.

Afghanistan's Hashmatullah Shahidi played a vital role by scoring an unbeaten 74 not out of 102 balls as his team chased down a below-par target of 263 set by Pakistan with a couple of balls to spare. Nabi scored 34 off 41 balls.

Nonetheless, Pakistan's Babar Azam scored 112 for 108 balls. Despite solid partnership in the middle, Pakistan failed to flourish. Captain Sarfraz scored 13 off 10 and Imad Wasim 18 off 23.

Though Wahab Riaz came up with a fiery spell by picking up 2 wickets in the 48th over but it was not enough to help Pakistan grapple the win.
This is Pakistan's eleven straight ODI defeat.
