Captain Fantastic Sunil Chhetri helps India lift Intercontinental Cup

Pratidin Bureau

The sleeping giants of world football today knocked on the world stage once again as force in blue went on to beat Kenya by 2 goals in the final of Intercontinental Cup at the Mumbai Football Arena.

Not to everyone's surprise, both the goals were scored by the talismanic captain Sunil Chhetri in first half itself. He was adjudged 'Man of the Match' for his outstanding performance.

Following their two goal lead in the first half, India held their back and defended perfectly to keep the match in their hold.

An elated Sunil Chhetri said, "Extremely happy with the way we played. Thank you so much to the Mumbai fans. Just hope we get good games before the Asian Cup next year. There's no comparison with Messi, just happy to be scoring for the country."
