Dale Steyn Out of Cricket World Cup

Pratidin Bureau

Just a day before their march against India, South Africa received a jolt as its ace fast bowler Dale Steyn has been ruled out of the ICC CWC owing to a second shoulder injury.

Left arm pacer Beuran Hendricks ha been named Steyn's replacement.

The 35-year-old pacer did not feature in any of the two World Cup matches or warm-up fixtures for South Africa after the Proteas landed in England.

South Africa captain Faf de Plesis during the team's first match against host England said that Dale Steyn was probably 60 percent fit when selected for the tournament and the team management believed him to get fit by the time tournament began.
