England thrashes India in final ODI to win series 2-1

England emerged victorious in the three-match One Day International (ODI) series by defeating India in the final match by eight wickets at Leeds on Tuesday.

The English team reached their target of 257 runs in only 44.3 overs and lost only two wickets. English batsman Joe Root scored a second successive century, while Eoin Morgan performed impressively.

India, put to the bat first, scored 256 for 8 in the set of 50 overs, with Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan and Mahindra Singh Dhoni scoring the bulk of the secured runs.

India and England will play against each other in a widely anticipated five-match test series beginning from August 1 in Birmingham.
