I-League: Shillong Lajong entertain Churchill Brothers on Tuesday

Pratidin Bureau

Meghalayan club Shillong Lajong will host Churchill Brothers from Goa in a top vs bottom clash of the I-League 2018-19 season at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Shillong on Tuesday. The match will be an early evening kick off at 5pm under floodlights.

The traditional northeastern powerhouse Shillong Lajong have had a disappointing string of performances in the ongoing season of I-League. After registering a narrow win in their previous game against title holders Minerva Punjab at the Tau Devi Lal Stadium in Chandigarh, which ended their 12-match winless streak, the young brigade from Meghalaya would like to build on that result and recover their ill-fated season to some extent.

On the flip side, Goan giants Churchill Brothers are back on their feet this season having gathered crucial points both home and away. With 4 wins in last 5 games and a draw most recently, they are positioned second in the points table behind Chennai City FC and are in contention for this year's I-League title which is most likely to go down to the wire.
