ICC World Cup: Team India Leaves For England

Virat Kohli-led Indian cricket team on the intervening nightof May 21-May 22 left for England to participate at the 12th editionof the ICC World Cup which will be held in England & Wales from May 30  to July 14 next.

The 15-member squad along with the support staff boarded theflight for England from Mumbai.

Before the real battle begins on May 30, the teams will lockhorn against each other in a number of warm-up games. India will play NewZealand and Bangladesh on May 25 and May 28 respectively.

It may be mentioned here that this will be Virat Kohli's thirdWorld Cup and first as Captain.

Kohli first played for the Men In Blue at the 2011World Cup,jointly hosted by India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. The Indian team lead my MSDhoni lifted the coveted cup in the year for the second time after a gap of 28years.

The 2019 edition will be Dhoni's fourth and probably the 'final' World Cup. Dhoni has represented India at 2007, 2011, and 2015 editions of the tournament.
