Kohli confident for 3rd test, Pant to make test debut

Pratidin Bureau

The  third test between India and England is all set to start from 18th August venued at  Nottingham. India pulls up their socks as this would be be decisive test for them.  India lost the first two tests in the five test series in a humiliating manner. India made a few changes in the playing XI to stay competitive in the game.

The first of that is the inclusion of Delhi wicketkeeper batsmen-Rishabh Pant.  India's batting has failed miserably in the first two innings and  apart from skipper Virat Kohli, none of the other batsmen have done justice to their presence in the playing XI.

Dilip Vengsarkar , chief selector of the Indian Cricket team  has called for explosive Delhi wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant to be included in the third Test against England, starting Saturday.

Vengsarkar told BBC Radio. "Rishabh Pant should get in. Apart from Kohli, nobody has shown that they could score runs here. Whether it's English or Australian conditions, you have to adapt quickly. You have to apply yourself and get runs,"

Virat Kohli on the other hand seems confident for the third test , even though it's quite evident that he is not 100% fit.

Shikhar Dhawan and Jaspreet Bumrah , recovering their finger injuries, are likely to find a place in the playing XI.
