Shastri reappointed head coach of Team India

Amid speculations, Kapil Dev-led Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) on Friday confirmed that Ravi Shastri will continue as team India head coach. According to reports, Shastri has been reappointed for a two-year period, ending with the 2021 T20 World Cup in India.

"RaviShastri will continue as Indian Cricket Team's Head Coach," said the 1983 WorldCup-winning captain during a press conference, adding, "We want to make surethe team should get benefitted. That's what we wanted. The board also wants thesame thing."

KapilDev also informed that that Tom Moody came a close third and Mike Hessonfinished second in the race. It may be mentioned here that five names –incumbent Ravi Shastri, Robin Singh, Lalchand Rajput, Mike Hesson and Tom Moody– were in contention for the high-profile position.
