35 killed in Medina bus accident

As many as thirty-five people have been killed and several others sustained serious injuries when a passenger bus collided with a truck in Saudi Arabia's Medina on Wednesday.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, the private chartered bus carrying 39 pilgrims from Asian as well as Arab countries collided with a heavy vehicle near the al-Akhal town on Wednesday evening. The accident took place on the road linking Medina to Mecca.

Meanwhile,Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief on the loss of 35 lives in theaccident and offered his condolences to the families of those who lost theirlives.

On theother hand, the External Affairs Ministry has asked its Mission in Jeddah toascertain details of Indian victims in the bus crash in Saudi Arabia.
