India on Friday reported 17,070 Covid-19 cases, taking the active cases to 1,07,189. According to data published by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the fresh cases were detected from 5,02,150 tests conducted in the last 24 hours.
The cumulative tests conducted in the country stands at 86.28 crores, the ministry informed. India also recorded 14,413 recoveries in the last 24 hours, taking total recoveries to 4,28,36,906.
Meanwhile, the active cases now stand at 0.25 per cent, as per the data released, while the recovery rate stood at 98.55 per cent.
Apart from that, the daily positivity rate stood at 3.40 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate stood at 3.59 per cent.
Notably, India also reported 23 deaths in the last 24 hours taking the total deaths due to Covid-19 to 5,25,139.
India’s vaccination coverage rose to 197.74 crore doses administered under the nationwide vaccination drive.
