Woman Thief Caught with Stolen Phone, Cash During Ambubachi Mela

During the Ambubachi Mela, city police yesterday nabbed a woman thief at the Kalipur Ashram PCR for allegedly stealing from a devotee.

The woman, involved in theft activities during the Ambubachi Mela, fell into the police net following a swift response by the on-duty personnel.

She was found in possession of a stolen Realme 11 Pro mobile handset, ₹5,496 in cash, and a blue purse. Swift action by the alert police team led to the immediate recovery of the stolen items.

Legal proceedings have been initiated against the woman, and further investigation is underway to ascertain if she is linked to any organised theft syndicate targeting devotees during the religious congregation.
