According to reports, the village head told Pratidin Time, "It has been raining for several days and water from Karbi Anglong had overflowed. As a result, the embankment is broken and water enters the Dighal Jarani village."

The ward member and villagers said, "All the houses in the village have been submerged, forcing people to move to safer places. Some are building makeshift shelters along the four-lane road and are staying there in temporary camps. Families whose houses are completely underwater are facing severe problems with food and drinking water. The children are unable to go to school because the entire area is flooded. Till now, they haven't received any help and are feeling helpless.

Locals say that the government has completely ignored this area; the embankment here has been broken for years, but no action has ever been taken. Had the government paid even a little attention, today's flood could have been avoided," - One of the villagers said.
