Tension in Juria as BJP Supporters Block MLA Nurul Huda’s Entry

Tensions flared up on Friday in Assam's Juria Development Block after BJP supporters reportedly obstructed local Congress MLA Nurul Huda from entering the office premises. The incident sparked a brief standoff, prompting swift intervention from local police to bring the situation under control.

According to sources, the confrontation erupted when MLA Huda arrived at the Juria Block Development Office, accompanied by five ward members of the Hatijujua Gaon Panchayat. Allegations surfaced from BJP supporters claiming that the five members had won their seats with BJP support and were now being allegedly “influenced” by the Congress legislator.

As BJP supporters gathered at the entrance and raised slogans, MLA Nurul Huda was briefly surrounded, leading to heightened tensions in the area. Juria Police rushed to the spot and managed to disperse the crowd, ensuring the safety of the legislator and maintaining order.

While no untoward incident was reported, the episode underscores the growing political friction at the grassroots level following recent panchayat developments in the region. Local authorities have urged all parties to maintain peace and resolve issues through democratic dialogue.
