Operation Sindhu: 3,174 Indians Evacuated from Iran and Israel via 14 Special Flights
Under the ongoing Operation Sindhu, a total of 3,174 Indian nationals have been safely evacuated from conflict-hit regions of Iran and Israel through 14 special flights, the Ministry of External Affairs informed.
In a significant development on Tuesday afternoon, 286 evacuees returning from Iran aboard the 11th flight of the operation were received at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi by Minister of State for External Affairs, Pabitra Margherita. The Minister extended a warm welcome to the returning citizens, many of whom expressed relief and gratitude for the swift and secure evacuation efforts.
Operation Sindhu was launched by the Indian government to ensure the safe return of Indian nationals stranded in volatile regions amidst rising geopolitical tensions. The mission has involved coordinated efforts between Indian embassies, the Ministry of External Affairs, and other key government agencies.
Officials confirmed that more flights are expected in the coming days as evacuation efforts continue to bring home every Indian stranded abroad due to the crisis.
