A mild earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale struck Assam’s Karbi Anglong district on Tuesday morning, according to data from the National Center for Seismology.
The tremor was recorded at 9:22 AM IST, with its epicentre located at latitude 26.51°N and longitude 93.15°E, at a depth of 25 kilometres beneath the earth's surface.
While the quake was moderate in intensity, there were no immediate reports of damage to property or loss of life. However, the tremor was felt in nearby areas, causing brief panic among residents.
