Assam Police Jawan Found Dead Near Dighalipukhuri in Guwahati

A man was found dead under mysterious circumstances near the Dighalipukhuri area in Guwahati city on Wednesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Hiteshwar Kalita, a personnel of the 10th Assam Police Battalion, reportedly in his 30s. He was found lying unresponsive by the roadside, dressed in a blue shirt and half-pants. A bag was also recovered near his body.

Police from Panbazar police station arrived at the scene and sent the body to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.

Sources confirmed that Kalita hailed from Nalbari district. Investigations are underway to ascertain the circumstances that led to the incident.
