Assam: Two Arrested for Attempted Rape Inside Stationary Train

In a shocking incident, two men allegedly attempted to rape a woman inside a stationary train at Lala Railway Station in Assam’s Hailakandi district.

The incident reportedly took place on Thursday night when the woman had gone to the station to purchase a train ticket.

According to the woman's complaint, the accused, identified as Binod Basfor and Pankaj Deb, allegedly took advantage of the deserted railway premises and tried to sexually assault her inside one of the idle coaches.

The local police have since arrested both accused based on the victim’s statement and have initiated an investigation into the case.

Interrogation of the two suspects is underway.
