A man and a woman were apprehended on Wednesday evening after police recovered a large quantity of suspected ganja from their residence in Guwahati’s Ganeshpara area.
Acting on source-based intelligence, a team from Fatasil Ambari Police Station, under the supervision of ACP Azara, conducted a house search around 8:00 PM. During the operation, approximately 6.8 kilograms of suspected cannabis (ganja) were recovered from the premises.
The individuals taken into custody have been identified as Jiten Garh (52) and Manu Garh (37), who are reportedly a couple.
Field testing using Drug Detection Kits (DDK) confirmed the seized substance to be cannabis. The contraband has been confiscated as per legal procedures.
Further investigation is currently underway.
