Deepika, who made her Hollywood debut in 2017 with XXX: Return of Xander Cage opposite Vin Diesel, has been selected in the Motion Pictures category. She joins a stellar group of global personalities in the 2026 lineup, including actors Emily Blunt, Rachel McAdams, Timothée Chalamet, Rami Malek, Demi Moore, Stanley Tucci, and Molly Ringwald.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame honours excellence across five categories — motion pictures, television, live theatre/live performance, music recording, and sports entertainment. Among others selected this year are Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar, ER actor Noah Wyle, former NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal, and Good Morning America anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos, who will receive a joint star.

Special posthumous honours will be given to legendary filmmaker Tony Scott and renowned Italian special effects artist Carlo Rambaldi.

Walk of Fame honorees are chosen from hundreds of nominations reviewed by a selection committee. The names are then ratified by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, with the announcement made by current Walk of Fame stars Eugenio Derbez and Richard Blade.

Deepika’s recognition on the celebrated Los Angeles boulevard is seen as a milestone moment for Indian cinema’s global outreach. While actors from India have previously been honoured in other ways, she will be the first Indian actress to receive a dedicated star.

On the personal front, Deepika and her husband, actor Ranveer Singh, welcomed their daughter on September 8, 2024. The couple, who got married in 2018, shared her name — Dua Padukone Singh — with the world during Diwali last year, saying, “Dua: meaning a prayer. Because she is the answer to our prayers. Our hearts are filled with love and gratitude.”

Professionally, Deepika was last seen in Kalki 2898 AD, the pan-India sci-fi epic directed by Nag Ashwin, which also starred Prabhas and Amitabh Bachchan. She is confirmed to appear in the film's sequel and has also signed on for an upcoming pan-India project with Allu Arjun, directed by Atlee, tentatively titled AA22xA6.
